As part of the initiative to nurture Investor Education and Protection, the Capital Markets Authority cooperated with BLOM Invest to organize the Virtual Stock Exchange (VSE) Competition that proved its success over the past decade.

This initiative was announced during the gala dinner hosted by Blom Invest. On behalf of the Capital Markets Authority, Mr. Firas Safieddine, Vice Chairman and  Mr. Tarek Zebian (Twitter: @tarekzebian), Director of the Communication and Research Department attended the event in the presence of Mr. Saad Azhari, Chairman and General Manager of Blom Bank, and Dr. Fadi Osseiran, General Manager of Blominvest Bank.

In an effort to implement the partnership plan, the Communication and Research Department along with the Legal Department at the Capital Markets Authority will have representatives visit 15 different universities across Lebanon during the months of October and November 2019. These visits aim at introducing the laws and implementing regulations set by the CMA that ensure investor protection in Lebanon and provide a fair and transparent investment environment.

This partnership between academic, regulatory and investment institutions has proven to be successful as it gives the students an opportunity to put theory into practice in order to merge knowledge with experience and improve their skills as investors.

This initiative is one of many objectives that the CMA is working on and implementing in order to increase investor awareness and education.
