U.S. bank JPMorgan held a dinner in honor of Central Bank Gov. Riad Salameh on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his taking over the duties as governor of Banque du Liban. The dinner was attended by JPMorgan Europe Chairman Mark Garvin, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard and leading Lebanese and foreign bankers. Garvin said that Salameh played a prominent role in gaining the confidence of international correspondent banks in the Lebanese banking sector. For his part, Salameh stressed that the banking sector and BDL are fully complying with the rules and regulations of the international banking system.
